A guided
reflection on how loss can become the doorway to transformation — and how to
trust the wisdom already within you.
Have you
ever experienced a moment of loss so deep, it felt like the ground beneath you
shifted?
Loss comes
in many forms — the passing of a loved one, the end of a relationship, a sudden
change in life’s direction — and in those moments, the world no longer feels
the same.
You may
wonder how to begin again… or even if you can.
But what if
transformation is possible not despite your loss, but through it?
What if the
pain you’re feeling isn’t the end, but the beginning of self-discovery — a new
way of seeing yourself, your life, and your capacity to heal?
This is not
about forgetting what was. It’s about discovering a deeper connection to who
you are and who you are supposed to be… and learning how to step forward with
faith, wisdom, and inner guidance.
You can get
through this time of loss, if you accept this is a time of transformation.
My Quest for Knowledge
The
following is what I learned while attuned to my higher power.
I sit
quietly, focus my thoughts on a beginning question, and allow new thoughts to
flow through my mind uninterrupted.
Dear
Ones,
Faith is
most often understood through the lens of loss—because it’s during loss
that humans feel the most powerless.
There is
nothing quite like loss to disrupt a person’s emotional balance, to shake the
foundation of well-being and certainty. The word itself—loss—carries
weight. It signals that something sacred has been taken. Something
irreplaceable. Something loved.
Humans
develop deep emotional attachments—to people, to routines, to places, to
objects that hold meaning.
So when
something is taken… or someone is gone…
Grief Begins
Waves of Sorrow are Felt.
And life it seems, appears forever changed.
The Mark of an Ending
When a
loved one passes, or a relationship ends, or something cherished is gone from
your life, it often marks a clear ending.
The mind focuses on what was.
Memories begin to replay.
The world feels different, as if slightly altered—because the presence
that once anchored to you is no longer there.
This
disorientation is natural.
It is your spirit,
heart, and natural instincts trying to reconcile what the mind cannot yet
accept.
The Mental Setback
A setback
doesn’t always begin outside of you.
It begins
in the mind—when your focus becomes trapped in the absence.
When your
thoughts are pulled towards what was lost, instead of what remains.
And yet, in
that very moment…the person who remains — you —is being called to step
forward.
Stepping
forward means you can:
Think again—but not
forgetting about that which held a place in your heart, mind, and spirit.
Decide again—what is
the future going to be and how will you honor that or whom is now gone?
To build new habits—what is
one new step forward you can take to honor your past, while creating a new
future?
Accept the present as it is now—knowing
that each person and each thing lives a cycle that is according to their/its
own plan, and more importantly, you were included in that plan and your life
was the richer because of it. Those are the memories to nurture and honor.
Learn About Transformation Through
Faith
You’ve
heard many say, “You’ve got to have faith to get through the tough times.” Yet
what is the true power of faith during loss?
Is it waiting for something to happen?
Is it hoping someone else will carry you through?
Or
could it be this:
Is it an inner belief that
you hold a capacity to move forward?
In other words, have you
considered there is wisdom already within you, waiting to be accessed?
Yes, even now — especially right
now — you are capable of transformation.
Loss
is not a disconnection.
It is a moment that calls you to
discover deeper understanding, through the wisdom that’s within you.
Transform Through Transitioning
To
transform from any chapter of your life — whether you’ve lost a person, a
place, or something deeply cherished — you must allow the transition to unfold without
resistance.
You could not stop it.
You cannot control it.
And the
more you fight it, the more you become attached to negative emotions that weigh
down your spirit.
Those emotions can affect your body, your mind, and your energy.
This slows down your body’s natural healing process.
These negative emotions keep you connected to the past and looking back,
rather than moving ahead into your new future.
This
is a time to try breathing exercises:
You are
going to breathe and in doing so, clear out negative emotions to make way for
new, positive emotions.
Begin by
inhaling and as you do, summon all of the negative emotions you’ve had on your
mind.
Hold for a
few seconds. Visualize yourself cleaning house. Have you found all of the
negativity?
Then exhale
and release all of the negative emotions. Visualize all of those emotions
leaving your body.
Next,
imagine you are standing in a forest of some kind. The air is cool and crisp.
It is quiet now as the day is still new and there’s a chill in the air. As you
are standing there, you take in a deep breath and hold it for a few seconds.
This is pure, clean air – full of positive emotions. There is nothing to fear
as it is nurturing your very being.
Now as you
come back into your current reality, take this time to embrace your new or
altered life.
Ask
yourself: How should I begin today?
How do I
honor my past and move forward according to my life’s plan?
Any time
you feel the presence of negativity again, you can repeat these steps.
Transform Through the Energy of Life
You have
another source of healing and guidance within you and it is called the Connectedness Stream of Consciousness. It
is flowing through you — even now, as you read these words.
It is a
sacred energy that sustains your body, and every living thing.
It is in
the air, the earth, the silence between thoughts.
Try this if
you would: Step outside. Feel the wind touch your skin. That is the
consciousness of life energy moving around you.
Breathe in
that energy — feel how powerful it is. It is not separate from you. It is
part of you.
You don’t
need to perform a special ritual to access it.
You don’t
need permission to tap into the wisdom of the collective consciousness stream.
As a
physical being, you are an extension of this collective consciousness stream,
which means you have unlimited access to wisdom – any time you need it.
Transform by Listening for Insight
Even during
loss, even during the worst moments of chaos, the collective consciousness is
there and holds the wisdom of all man.
If you can
sit — just for a few quiet moments — and let your thoughts focus on what you
want to learn about…
You will
begin to notice something occurs.
It’s not about hearing voices.
It’s not about receiving instructions.
It about
the insight, ideas, and wisdom that will come to you, or what Bruce J refers to
as the: Aha moments.
Does this
come right away? Not always. It will arrive as you need it and you must not be
afraid that you are making it up. In time, you will learn to trust in your own
instincts and recognize that the wisdom received comes from a place outside of
your own knowledge.
This is the
Connectedness Stream of Consciousness speaking in its own way — not in
language, but in knowing. And its origin consists entirely of pure love.
What
About Negativity?
You may ask
about negative energy and the possibility of being tricked into false knowing.
Yes, there
is negative energy within all of us — because energy is made of balance.
But you
have the power to tune towards positive energy. Any insight given to you as a
result of asking will always be done with love and intended to better the
person who receives it.
If
you feel negativity:
Now should
you feel negative energy at any time, you can adjust your receiver or your
mind.
Find one
joyful memory. Something that radiates throughout your entire being. Think
about it and visualize it. What you are doing is creating a tuner for your mind
as a receiver. Once you are focused back on positive energy or positive
thinking, you will be back to the collective consciousness stream and ready for
wisdom and insight.
Trust that
wisdom and insight as you create a new future for yourself, while honoring what
or whom was lost. You are not finding a way to forget them. Instead, you are
discovering how your life’s plan is meant to continue and how this can be
accomplished through guidance and wisdom readily available for you.
Are you
ready now to tap into the stream of knowledge and insight available to you?
