Meet Bruce J

Intuitive Teacher. Spiritual Author. Lifelong Seeker.

I have spent most of my life searching for something I could not name.

I knew from childhood that the answers I needed were not going to be found in the places I was told to look. The religion of my early years did not fit who I was — not because I rejected the idea of a higher power, but because I felt, instinctively and deeply, that the connection I was seeking, and the answers I needed to guide my life, were not something anyone else could give me.

As a young man, I began what became a 40-year journey, culminating in something I had not planned to do until that point — sharing publicly what I had learned.

The Search

I read everything I could find. I studied the New Thought Movement and the early philosophers who believed the mind was more powerful than anyone had taught us. I read Napoleon Hill. I discovered The Secret and the teachers of Law of Attraction who promised that the right thoughts could change everything.

Each one gave me something. None gave me everything.

In 2017, I attended a Law of Attraction cruise — by one of the most prominent Law of Attraction teachers in that world. I had been listening to this teacher for several years and sessions on this cruise confirmed something I was sensing that was unfulfilling for me: The answers provided to participants were often the same, from workshop to workshop and year to year. After my second workshop I knew there was nothing more to be gained — and it was also at that time I began putting together plans for a website I would launch, to share my journey with others.

I realized what I came to find on this cruise wasn’t inspiration — it was clarity and trust. Clarity that I am on the right path, and trust in my higher power.

On the way home from the cruise, while at the Seattle Airport, a name came to me for the website I was to launch: Read and Believe. It fits my belief perfectly: Read — and then believe what resonates within you. Not what I tell you. Not what any teacher tells you. What you already know inside yourself.

How I Write

For many years, I wrote in journals. This was a place of refuge for me, when I could turn inward during painful and uncertain times. Over time, I discovered it was during the moments I wrote when I received answers I needed. That was a powerful realization — as I learned about connecting to my higher power and feeling this connection, it shaped how and what I believe as I listened to the teachings of others.

It also taught me that I could ask questions and seek answers on my own, without needing someone else to give those answers to me.

It took time for me to feel comfortable trusting what I was receiving. But once I did, I discovered I can access that connection at any time and any place — not just moments when a room is completely quiet.

What I Believe About You

My belief for you is simple: Anyone can learn to connect to their higher power, using any name that is preferred for their higher power. The name is not important — only the self-belief is.

I am not offering programs or seeking to be someone who holds all the answers. That is not my purpose. I want to share what I am learning, and in the process encourage you to learn how to find your own answers.

My blog posts are usually the questions I ask when something in my own life calls for deeper understanding — and my belief is that you will find something meaningful in them as well. None of what I share is the definitive authority on any subject. It is filtered through my experiences and my knowledge. My hope is that you will have your own questions and be encouraged to seek out answers for yourself.

My experience is going to be different than yours — and this is exactly why I want to encourage you to learn to find answers for yourself.

As a lifelong educator and now an intuitive teacher, my wish is not for you to accept my words — but to learn from my experiences, and then seek your own answers. This is going to put you onto a new spiritual journey of self-awakening and transformation.
